Connaissance révélée sur Vernonia glaberrima welw. Ex o. Hoffm. (Asteraceae) : une plongée dans son passé, ses usages et sa structure

Abstract
Vernonia glaberrima, un arbuste des savanes tropicales africaines mesurant 1-2 m de hauteur est une plante à multiples usages. Elle est malheureusement moins disponible et méconnue par la population togolaise. L’objectif de cette présente synthèse est de contribuer à une meilleure connaissance de V. glaberrima en vue de sa gestion durable au Togo. Au total, 104 références ont été retenues et analysées dans un tableur Microsoft Excel 2016. Il ressort majoritairement des rapports de collecte/occurrence (71%) et (24 %) des articles. Ces publications ont abordé neuf catégories de thèmes dont les plus développés concernent la récolte de l’espèce et sa description (47%), puis les activités biologiques et pharmacologiques (37%). Parmi les dix-huit pays africains dans lesquels l’espèce est rencontrée, les publications sont majoritaires au Nigéria (57%). Les feuilles (76%) sont les organes les plus utilisés. Elle soigne majoritairement le paludisme (13,04%). Le criblage phytochimique montre la présence des alcaloïdes, glycoside, flavonoïdes, saponines, stéroïdes et des terpènes. L'extrait brut méthanolique des feuilles a permis d'isoler l'acide nonacosanoïque, le lupéol, le 5-méthylcoumarine-4-β-glucoside et la 4-hydroxy-5-méthylcoumarine. L’anatomie de V. glaberrima a été réalisée par l’analyse microscopique et macroscopique des cellules épidermiques. Les feuilles présentent des stomates à la fois sur la surface supérieure et inférieure. Les études anatomiques de la nervure principale, du pétiole et la bande épidermique ont révélé la différence entre leur surface abaxiale et adaxiale. Cette étude a permis de catégoriser les connaissances sur V. glaberrima pour sa gestion durable et avoir une base de données pour de futures études.
